- Have your wedding rings and attendants’ jewelry made by a New Hampshire silversmith who can customize a design for you. The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen lists artisans on its website, www.nhcrafts.org.
- Treat your wedding party to a fun outing. Customize handbags during a private workshop at Anna Street, a Portsmouth boutique, or tour a brewery or winery. At the Vintner’s Cellar in Bedford, you can even create your own wine and label. The New Hampshire Winery Association website is www.nhwineryassociation.com.
- Pose for pictures by one of New Hampshire’s historic covered bridges, such as Honeymoon Bridge in Jackson. For a description of bridges in all regions of the state, go to www.nh.gov/nhdhr/bridges/table.html.
- Find locally made products at a farmers market. For a list of markets, go to http://agriculture.nh.gov/publications/index.htm.
- Treat your out-of-town guests to baskets filled with NH-made products, such as wine, cheese, flavored cooking oils and candy. Unbridled Chocolates in Marlborough makes herbal aphrodisiac chocolates. The Rocks Estate, a 1,400-acre preserve in Bethlehem, can provide maple syrup with labels customized for your event.
- Get carried away on a hot-air balloon ride over the countryside. Outfitters can even provide champagne and picnics.
- Get married on a farm, such as Fernwood Farm in Gilmanton, a 53-acre natural setting filled with native flora and woodlands. The Thyme & Ewe Farm in Claremont hosts teas and herbal lunches. The Stables at the Farm by the River Bed and Breakfast in North Conway offers horseback rides by the Saco River and romantic carriage rides.
